Wild Age, a Minneapolis five piece, began churning out hooky, synth-laced guitar pop in 2015 when songwriter/guitarist McCoy Seitz and longtime friend/multi-instrumentalist Blair Ransom found themselves reunited in their home city. Joined shortly after by guitarist Matt Ahart, drummer/producer August Ogren, and bassist Leng Moua, the group has since released two EPs (2016’s sparse, vibey Two Palms and 2017’s slick, pop-centered Wild Age Goes Crazy) and a number of singles while developing a reputation in the Minneapolis music scene as a formidable live act.
Their upcoming release, Sea of Health, is a juxtaposition of sunny melodies and ear worm choruses with darker lyrical themes of paranoia, introversion, and self doubt. The recordings were tracked live at The Petting Zoo, a studio operated by drummer August Ogren, resulting in a rawer production and more honest feel than on the group’s previous releases.
